In a landmark event for professional healthcare education in Sri Lanka, Prof Dato' Dr Ansary Ahmed, Founder President of Asia e University (AeU) virtually graced the launch of five pioneering Professional Bachelor’s programmes by the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS), Sri Lanka’s leading healthcare institution.
During his virtual address, Prof Dato' Dr Ansary delivered an uplifitng speech that commended the students for their commitment to pursuing excellence in healthcare. He emphasized the importance of these new programmes in shaping the future of healthcare in Sri Lanka and beyond, while encouraging the students to embrace the opportunities these professional bachelor’s programmes will provide.
The five professional bachelor’s in Public Health & Midwifery, Food & Environmental Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Nursing Science, and Health Services Management are the result of a strategic and visionary partnership between the School of Professional and Executive Education Development (SPEED) at Asia e University and IIHS. The collaboration underscores SPEED’s dedication to extending lifelong and life-wide learning opportunities on a global scale.
The launch event at the IIHS Multiversity campus in Colombo on 3 September 2024 drew an impressive crowd of over 760 aspiring students. The momentous occasion was graced by IIHS CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Kithsiri Edirisinghe, alongside several distinguished guests, including representatives from the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health.
