The SPEED team recently had an insightful and productive visit to the Malaysian Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), an agency under the Ministry of Economy dedicated to advancing Malaysia’s Oil & Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) sector. The meeting served as a valuable platform for both organizations to explore potential collaboration opportunities aimed at benefiting OGSE stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on talent development and strategic leadership.
Representing SPEED were Advisory Council Member Dr. Zakaria Taib, Head of SPEED Philip Lim, and their dedicated team, who shared their perspectives on industry advancements and key areas of mutual interest.
On MPRC’s side, the discussions were led by Mohd Nazmi Mohd Nur, Manager of OGSE Technology, and Zulhafeez Saharuddin, Senior Analyst for OGSE Talent & Bumiputera. The SPEED delegation was also warmly welcomed by James Chan, Vice President (President/CEO Office) of MPRC, reflecting the agency’s commitment to fostering meaningful industry partnerships.
Key discussion points included strategies to enhance workforce capabilities, advance Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and introduce micro-credential programmes to upskill the OGSE workforce. With shared expertise and aligned objectives, the collaboration between SPEED and MPRC is poised to drive innovation and promote sustainable growth within the country’s OGSE sector.
