The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between SPEED and Data Protection Experts Asia (DPEX Asia) took place on 5 February at Asia e University, marking a significant milestone in SPEED’s commitment to expanding its professional training offerings, particularly in data protection.
Representing AeU’s Founder President and SPEED Director, Prof. Dato Dr. Ansary Ahmed, was Dr. Norlina binti Kamudin, Vice President of Group Talent Management and Development. She was joined by Head of SPEED, Philip Lim, and other senior leaders, underscoring the university’s strong support for this collaboration. Through this partnership, SPEED will offer training for Certified Data Protection Officers (DPOs), enhancing expertise in this critical field.
The event was further distinguished by the presence of Prof. Abu Bakar Munir, Chairman of DPEX Asia. An internationally renowned expert in data protection and cybersecurity law, Prof Abu Bakar was a key figure in crafting the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. He is also the Founder & Chairman of the Malaysian Association of Cybersecurity and Privacy Professionals (MACPP). His participation highlighted the significance and credibility of this alliance.
The ceremony concluded on a positive note, with both organizations expressing enthusiasm for future collaboration. This partnership reaffirms SPEED’s commitment to equipping professionals with essential skills to navigate the evolving landscape of data protection.
