As part of the Global Youth Leadership Programme on UN-SDGs (GYLP), organised by the Social Impact Investment Foundation (SIIF) and supported by the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Programme (UNGLEP), SustainPreneur 2026 at Asia e University (AeU) brought together 37 university students from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Sudan for an immersive bootcamp on sustainable entrepreneurship.
The event was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ansary Ahmed, Founder President of Asia e University (AeU), together with Jonathan Chong, Director & Founder of the Social Impact Investment Foundation.
Participants benefited from the expertise of three distinguished speakers/trainers: the award-winning socialpreneur Anja Juliah, CEO of Athena Holding Sdn. Bhd., who shared insights on social enterprise and community impact; Dr. Muhammad Firdaus Abdul Karim, Director of UMK Tropical Rainforest Research Centre (TRaCe), who explored biodiversity and sustainable innovation; and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad, Professor in Finance and Entrepreneurship at AeU and Co-Chair of AiSED, who focused on sustainable entrepreneurship.
Through case studies, sustainability challenges, group activities and innovation pitching, participants developed cross-cultural perspectives, entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork and practical problem-solving skills — turning sustainability challenges into opportunities for meaningful impact.
