The annual AeU Staff Retreat, held from 1–3 Dec 2024, at the picturesque Philea Resorts and Spa in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, was a dynamic gathering filled with insightful discussions, impactful presentations, and opportunities for team bonding.

The School of Professional and Executive Education Development (SPEED) was proud to play a significant role in this 3-day, 2-night retreat, delivering a forward-looking presentation on “Micro-Credentials – The Way Forward.” This session highlighted SPEEDs dedication to spearheading innovative educational initiatives and reinforcing AeUs position as a leader in professional development and lifelong learning.

The retreat also featured other thought-provoking sessions by Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Noor Raihan Abd Hamid, Vice President of Group Talent Management & Development Dr Norlina Kamudin, Registrar Yusoff Musa, and Senior Manager for Sales and Marketing Chithra N. Vasudevan Nair.

Additionally, Academic Deans Prof Dr John Arul Phillips, Prof Dr Juhary Ali, and Prof Ts Dr Aedah Abdul Rahman shared valuable insights into their respective domains, highlighting the collective expertise within AeU.

A key highlight of the retreat was the inspiring sessions with Vice-Chancellor Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr Nik Mustapha Raja Abdullah and AeU Founder President, Prof Dato’ Dr Ansary Ahmed, who articulated a visionary roadmap for the university future. These sessions resonated strongly with SPEED mission to drive innovation and excellence in the training sector.

The retreat concluded on a high note with the much-anticipated Staff Performances, where creativity, talent, and camaraderie were on full display, emphasizing the vibrant culture within AeU.

For SPEED, the retreat underscored its pivotal role in contributing towards AeU’s strategic direction and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering programmes that align with the university vision for growth and innovation.
