On 10 January 2025, a pivotal collaboration meeting between the School of Professional and Executive Education Development (SPEED), the APEL Centre, and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Institute was held at Asia e University. This gathering marked a significant step forward in forging strategic partnerships to advance education, training, and sustainability initiatives.

The APEL Centre was represented by AeU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor/APEL Centre Director Professor Dr Noor Raihan Ab Hamid, SPEED by its Head, Philip Lim, and the FMM Institute delegation was led by its General Manager, Dr. Shanmuga V. Nadarajan.

The meeting featured engaging discussions on key focus areas. The APEL Centre presented its strategic mission for APEL Q, while SPEED introduced innovative strategies for micro-credentials and ESG-related training and initiatives. These deliberations underscored the shared dedication of all parties to fostering workforce development and sustainability.

The participants expressed a strong sense of optimism about the transformative potential of these initiatives. By leveraging their collective expertise and resources, SPEED, the APEL Centre, and the FMM Institute are poised to drive meaningful change in the upskilling landscape of Malaysian workforce especially in the manufacturing sectors.
